A native Nashvillian, Rev. Matthew L. Kelley was educated at Butler University and Vanderbilt Divinity School, and has served United Methodist congregations in Indiana and Tennessee. Matt and his wife, Jessica, are the proud parents of two daughters: Kate, who is 2 and attends Arlington's CDC, and Claire, who was born on All Saints' Day 2011. Southeast Nashville is a vibrant and diverse community, where many different races, nationalities, and cultures live side-by-side. It is my hope that Arlington United Methodist Church is a place that not only loves and serves this community and witnesses to the love of Jesus Christ, but that it also reflects this wonderful diversity we have right here in our neighborhood.
We are a group of people on a journey together, growing every day as disciples of Jesus Christ and changing the world by loving our neighbor. None of us has all the answers, and certainly none of us are perfect, but we are learning more and growing in grace every day.
