Coins of Compassion

Coins of Compassion

Every 3rd Sunday of the month, a special Coins of Compassion offering is given to support community outreach. The Mission Team chooses projects to sponsor each year. The offering is collected by the children of the church during the morning worship service. As a result, we all are involved in making this a congregational effort.

In January, May, and September, the offering goes to Arlington's Food Pantry, to purchase food to supliment the donations of food.

In February, June, and October, the it goest to Room in the Inn.  The funds are used to pay for meals and supplies such as towels, washcloths, etc.

In March, July, and November, the funds go to 61st Ave UMC's Last Minute Toy Store.  This program gives parents, who have not received help from any other agencies, a last chance to provide Christmas gifts to their children and teens.

And in April, August, and December, the funds are given to Community Care Fellowship, an East Nashville facility that offers showers and laundry facilities, a hot lunch, fellowship and counseling to Nashville's marginalized population.  Community Care Fellowship is an outreach of the United Methodist Church.
